Fine Libations

Coffee
A little personal trivia.  My mom brought me up sipping her cold cup of Folgers that she would nurse all day long.  In college, there was a one-of-a-kind coffee store in Seattle's University Village after which my dorm mates nick named named me - Starbuck.  In a context like that, I guess it was inevitable that I would come to enjoy coffee and lattes.

Tea
My wife introduced me to tea when we first married and every day still begins with a tea brewed strong to look like coffee.  I stock a straight black leaf tea like English Breakfast along with blackberry, mango, Earl Gray, and other flavored teas.

Dining Beverages
From early times, alcoholic beverages in moderation have been recognized for their medicinal value and as a compliment to fine dining.  My wife is an incredible cook and I have come to enjoy a specialty beverage to compliment these meals.

Water
In recent years a work colleague told me about the virtues of drinking water so I tried cutting back on coffee and tea and drinking more water.  Now, over half of what I drink is water.  My dry skin has almost all gone away, my sneezing reduced by half, my colds and flues reduced by 80%, and I'm more alert.  Its been amazing.  I have come full circle to believe that water is the finest libation of them all!
