The fifth thing that comes from the hand of God is our strength (Jn 15:1-8). God's Holy Spirit comes to indwell the new believer in their innermost being and He begins to renew our mind, will and emotions as we allow Him. Successful soul cleansing occurs as we abide in Christ and He abides in us. To follow Christ, we must deny ourselves daily (Lk 9:23) and humble ourselves (1 Pet 5:5-7).
God strengthens us through His Word, prayer and obedience to His Spirit. Our goal is to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor 10:5), pray without ceasing (1 Th 5:16-19) and walk in God's Spirit Who indwells us (Gal 5:16-25) and empowers us (Eph 3:14-19).
